18 week pregnancy update, almost half way there!

Left: The day I found out I was pregnant | Middle: 12 Weeks | Right: 18 Weeks
These are two additional 18 week picts, the tummy has offically popped in my mind.

I am no good with this baby updating thing, but from time to time I will add some updates in case you are wondering what is happening.

Food Baby: The size of Pickle now. Mom sure does love salty pickles from time to time, YUM!

Due date:
September 5th. well they say the 6th, but I like the 5th so that is what I tell people, since you know ...I am in charge!

How far along:
As of today 18 weeks and 2 days

Gender:
GIRL!!!

Total weight gain/loss:  still no weight gain yet...Technically I am -1 pound...But a couple weeks ago I was at -4 pounds, so we are finally moving in the right direction.

Stretch marks: Nope none, but the size of my boobs right now is just ridiculous.. just through I would throw that out here.

Swelling: None. unless Boobs count ?

Maternity clothes: Yes..I can still fit into my regular jeans, but why would I?? Elastic is the way to go! much more comfy for me and the growing belly right now. Maternity shirts still look weird, and I still feel like I just look like a ate alot, so I am patiently waiting for this bump to get a bit bigger so I can rock some more stuff.

Belly button: Innie but I feel like its getting bigger? or just stretched out? Hopefully that is normal

Sleep: Our little girl, likes to be very active during the night time. So between her moving around and the odd shape my belly is at..Sleeping just isn't great for me right now. We have however kicked our giant dogs out of the bed, so at least I have space now :-)

Food cravings:  Anything that is carb..Bread..bagels..cereal..fruit..desserts. You name it. This is so opposite of the way I am used to living. Because I have PCOS, I had to limit my carbs a lot of the time. But this baby is not happy with veggies and protein right now, so instead of starving myself, I eat what I can and what doesn't make me feel sick. Luckily my weight has not sky rocketed so I am ok with where we are at right now. I still try to force in meat and fish, and even salad if I can handle it. It's just not as much as I would like. I am hoping in the next few weeks it will keep getting better and I can get back on track with better eating habits.

Symptoms:  Pelvic girdle pain, or scaitic pain whatever you want to call it, its a mean shot of pain that starts from my butt and goes down the entire left side of my leg. Super fun. And then there are the headaches.. When I have them they are bad, so bad that I get dizzy from them and they ruin a perfectly good day. Other then that I actually feel pretty good.

Movement: Yes! Feeling her little flutters and pokes make me very happy now. At first it was super weird. I mean there is a thing inside of you moving around. Super strange, but the more I get used to it the more I feel at ease knowing that she is happy in there and safe.

What I miss:  Wine, raw oysters, deli sandwiches, any and all cured meats and hot dogs!

What I’m loving:  Getting her nursery ready, buying her clothes and reading every baby book out there. Even if I think their info is BS, I take something away from every book, even if you dont agree you can always learn a lesson ;-)

What I’m looking forward to:  Finalizing a name! My husband is holding out my favorite pick

Best moment this week: Thinking about our little one being her for the holidays. We found out we were pregnant on Christmas morning and I never thought I could get a better present. But I think having her here for Christmas will be the most awesome gift ever. I have no idea who I am right now, this cheesiness makes me want to smack myself in the face.

Words of wisdom: People have a lot of opinions. And even when they say they don't want to tell you their opinion..they still do! So just smile and listen and do whatever you want afterwards! I really appreciate the people who let me ask them questions and just don't spout advice. If I ask, that means I need help! If I don't, I have it covered or think I do and will figure it all out one way or another. I promise ;-)

well hello mr. leum

This is a 5x7, double sided birth announcement. Top image if the front of the card, bottom images is the back of the card.

I have to say when we found out we were having a girl, I was a tad scared. I was such a tomboy when I was younger and really still am at heart, I am just not sure what to do with a girl. Little by little I am sure I will figure it out. In the meantime, I had some fun with this little guy's birth announcement. Blue is still my favorite color, and it was fun to use all kinds of different shades in this card. Did I mention our crib is blue? I promise the nursery will still be all girl..we are just going a different direction instead of using the normal girly hues. I will post some pictures when we get a little further along in the decorating process ;-)

welcome little amy!

cute clothes motivation

Ever need some workout motivation? Go buy new gear! It doesn't have to be LuLu it can be something different but new, that makes you excited again for your fav workouts. In steps my new Nike Studio Wraps. I love them! They have great traction so you dont slip, they are uber comfy, your feet can breathe, they look awesome and they are only $50...I am so excited I found these. They can be used for pilates, barre classes, yoga, even trx if you wanted. All of my favorite things! Its great to have these in the sock rotation, although I kinda think they will pretty much take over now. Poor socks..The only downside? People can actually see your toes..not sure if you noticed but I have second and third toe problems. Meaning they are both longer then my big toe. Ick! Well I am outta here, time to go look awesome while I workout ;-)

Back on my Bike!

Remember how I said my other goal this week was to workout at least 4 times? Well I completed that task with flying colors! I even did a double day ;-) Although it was needed because I ate literally like shit the day before, so my goal was to burn at least 1000 calories and I ended up burning just below 1200. Love that! I was able to sneak in a bike ride before I met my two favorite hiking buddies, Steph and Noah (my 2 year old cousin) for a challenging dish hike, in which I pushed him up and down hills for 3+ miles. SO FUN! No I am serious it really is a blast. Even though my double day was great, there was no excuse to eat so poorly the day before, I hate hate hate eating like that, I need to put my foot down. Its so hard for me when I am with a group of people..MUST WORK ON THIS! Literally Norther California's "winter" this year is ridiculous. Hello 65 and sunny, so I took full advantage and added 2 more bike rides into my workout rotation. Both hour long and mildy difficult as I am just starting to get back into biking shape. But I burned an average of 650-700 calories for each ride. Success in my book! This week, I am going for at least 4 workouts, and eating good all week. That means no more then 1400 calories a day.

and were half way there!

Yes I have made it to the halfway point. I am beyond excited as I almost had a major set back last night. Here is my story...Nick's parents were over for dinner and his mom very thoughtfully had purchased some AMAZING champagne for us to drink. And when I say amazing, I mean it! It was special and I really really wanted to enjoy some. Anyway she did not know I was doing the 30 days of no-drinking, so for me to speak up and actually say.."No Sorry I cant have any, because I am on a booze cleanse" to my boyfriends mother was nothing less then painful. BUT I made it out alive, and even the b/f commented on how proud he was of me, because he totally thought I would give in. I don't think because I am weak but more because well, it was his mom and you don't say no to your boyfriends mom. Luckily she totally understood and I told her as soon as I was done with my 30 days we would share a bottle together. Now I think about just how much better that drink will taste when I have completely my 30 days successfully. Goals drive you to be better, when you finish something that is tough you feel powerful within yourself. I am already starting to feel that way now...the next part is all about finishing strong!
