Thursday is one of my post favorite days of the week. It means that I don't have to drive up to the city! Don't get my wrong I love the city, but the commute kills me. I freelance for a big company up there and as much I like being able there, Thursday's and Fridays are MY days! I get to do whatever I want... I really wish I were back The Ritz, eating burrata cheese (see cafe borrone pict) and drinking champagne. Unfortunately, I have tons of work to do today. I am in the process of trying to restore a 1965 Challenge paper cutter. I literally do not know where to start with this thing. It is a beast, and I have worked on it for a few hours already, and am not sure if I am going in the right direction. Anyone know how to get years and years of rust of of an old machine? So far I have used highly toxic chemicals, that stink up an entire warehouse, so badly it makes an outhouse seem pleasant. I am also working on a business card for a good friend of mine... Letterpress, on black paper with silver ink. This is an evil project as with letterpress we really try to stay away from colored paper as the ink just doesn't hold up as well. But for him, I will make it happen! Hopefully ;-)
After all this work a girl needs to eat. Lucky for me, I am going to be personally cooked for by the head chef at Piatti in Santa Clara. I cannot tell you what an amazingly talented chef he is, every time he cooks for us its even better then last time, and there are not many people I can say that about. I know him personally so we get private dinners from time to time, and I have to say again how insanely lucky I am to have such wonderful people in life.
